The midnight sovereign call

Mid-night is well versed with the complete depth of darkness. It is the silent hour in one’s life. A stray of light or a gentle voice could be sensed quickly in a deadly night. C. S Lewis said, “God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences, but shouts in our pains. It is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” The world is too busy to listen to God, that He brings us a mid-night. Everyone has to pass through this darkest silent hour of pain to listen to the voice of God. “He reveals deep and hidden things, He knows what lies in darkness and light dwells with Him.” -Daniel: 2. 22 We could comprehend LORD’s secret writings only when the Light- Jesus Christ is within us.
At midnight, with the pale light from the lamp, Samuel heard God’s gracious voice- I Samuel: 3:3. Moses was placed among the reeds in a basket along the bank of the blackish-red river, Nile- Exodus: 2:3 and God used him to save the Israelites from their darkest periods. It was in a blessed mid-night Jacob understood the Heavenly presence with him as he sets out from Beersheba to Haran which urges him to take new decisions in life Genesis: 28:10-12. Ruth was blessed in the middle of the night with a guardian-redeemer- Ruth: 3:8-12. It was in that mid-night, Paul and Silas prayed and sang hymns God where the doors flew open and set them as the sermons who listened to them- Acts: 16: 25- 26. So we see, each person had to face this silent hour of darkness in their life to understand the Mighty call for them. “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned” Isaiah: 9: 2 “Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble.” II Peter: 1:10.
Once there was a wise father who had three sons. As he grew older, he decided to test their wisdom and gift his properties to the wisest son. So he gave three coins to each and asked them to buy something that could fill the room. Three of them went to the market and bought home their desired stuff. The elder son filled the room with a large, bulky bundle of straw, but it didn’t please the father. The second son filled the room with bags of cotton. But, this too did not make the father happy. Finally, the younger son took a candle from his pocket and lit it in the middle of the room. The soft warm light filled each corner of the room. The happy father with contentment gave the gifts to the youngest son who chased away the dark shadows and filled the entire room with light. The candle never complained of its size or appearance but believed in itself for what it was made for. Once we confirm our calling, we shall never look down upon ourselves, but put the complete trust in the burning light within us. “He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be Holy and blameless in His sight.” Ephesians: 1: 4.
Let the Sovereign call gives us a transition from the deep darkness to the brightest light of the day. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.“- John: 8: 12.
Dears, it is that one minute to or from mid-night to listen to the Sovereign call. The mid-night bridges from darkness to light. Remember, “the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” – John: 1:5.
